Tire mileage value calculator
Compare tires by their true cost per mile of useful tread life. Inputs warranty miles + tire price + your replacement threshold to compute the per-mile cost.
Cost per mile
—
Cost per mile assumes the warranty mileage is reached and the tire is replaced at the wear bar. Adds install cost (mount + balance + disposal) is not included; use the install cost calculator alongside this.
How the estimate works
Mileage warranty is the manufacturer's claim of expected tread life under normal use. Independent testing typically shows real-world life lands at 85% to 100% of warranty — heavier drivers and city use bring it lower, gentler highway-heavy drivers can exceed it. The cost per mile divides the per-tire purchase price by your realistic expected mileage, giving a like-for-like comparison across tires regardless of warranty length or sticker price.
The honest read: a $200 tire warranted to 60,000 miles delivers about $0.0033/mile of useful tread (at 100% warranty achievement). A $130 budget tire warranted to 40,000 miles delivers about $0.0033/mile too — same cost per mile. The cheaper tire is not actually cheaper unless its warranty is high relative to its price. See the warranty guide for what mileage warranties really pay out.
